Anti Bribery Management System as the Main Guideline for Preventing Corruption in KFTD

PT Kimia Farma Trading & Distribution (KFTD) as part of Kimia Farma Group is committed to creating a corporate culture free from all forms of bribery such as corruption by implementing Good Corporate Governance (GCG). This commitment is reflected in the company’s Sistem Manajemen Anti Penyuapan (SMAP), or the Anti Bribery Management System. This system became the guideline for properly managing KFTD and realizing the aforementioned commitments.

Background

SMAP was created to reflect the company’s commitment to practising Good Corporate Governance (GCG) principles and abiding by the ISO 37001:2016 standards. This system is meant to be the definitive guideline for KFTD executives’ management of the company.

Along with the management system, KFTD releases guidelines on conducting SMAP properly. The guideline highlights three main objectives:

  1. Helping the company prevent, detect, and handle bribery according to anti-bribery regulations to build a voluntary commitment-based anti-bribery corporate culture within KFTD.
  2. Ensuring an effective implementation of SMAP.
  3. Ensuring anti-bribery programs are properly executed promptly.

Goals

The implementation of SMAP sets seven goals:

  1. The results of the SMAP Awareness Survey indicate that employees’ commitment and awareness levels regarding SMAP are at a minimum of 70%.
  2. Bribery risk registry update is targeted at 75% minimum, indicated by the registry update log.
  3. Due diligence reports indicate that the anti-bribery feasibility level reaches 100%.
  4. ISO 37001:2016 certification for SMAP with a target score of 100%, indicated by SMAP implementations.
  5. Zero tolerance and zero bribery incidents committed by KFTD employees.
  6. 100% follow-up rate for reports regarding bribery allegations within KFTD.
  7. Unqualified opinion for financial reports audited by independent external auditors.

These seven goals are intended to be the main indicators of SMAP’s successful implementation. If the majority of the goals have been achieved, it indicates that SMAP is working as intended.
